A New Era for Electric: Preview the Maserati GranTurismo Folgore

These days, more Newton and Wayland drivers are ditching their fossil-fuel-powered cars in exchange for all-electric vehicles. Many automakers, including Maserati, have plans to manufacture only electric vehicles. Maserati plans to phase out all of their gasoline-powered vehicles by 2023 in exchange for EVs. A major part of the luxury automaker’s goal is to provide all-electric versions for each Maserati model, which will be known as the Folgore lineup. One progenitor of the lineup will be a fully electric GranTurismo. The GranTurismo Folgore is estimated to start around $215,000 and will go on sale sometime during the fall of 2023.

Maserati GranTurismo Folgore: Setting a New Precedent for Performance

While the GranTurismo Folgore will not possess a roaring V6 engine for the others on Sudbury to hear, the stunning supercar will be a silent predator. In fact, the GranTurismo Folgore will be the most powerful Maserati vehicle to ever be produced and is expected to be far faster than its gasoline-powered counterpart. With its trifecta of electric motors, the groundbreaking Maserati sports car will be able to unleash an astounding 818 horsepower and 996 lb-ft of torque.

Lightning-Fast Charging Capabilities

The GranTurismo Folgore will come equipped with a 83.0-kWh battery and will be able to travel for up to 280 miles on a single charge, but this is only an estimate and may change. The charging capabilities for the electrified GranTurismo will be unbelievably fast and will be able to gain 100km (62 miles of range) in just 5 minutes when using a 270-kWh connection. To put that into perspective, you can get back up to a full charge in less than 25 minutes.

Sustainability Beyond Just Electric

When it comes to sustainability, most EVs don’t venture any further than simply being an electric vehicle. The interior of the electric Maserati GranTurismo Folgore extends its eco-friendliness beyond its power source and into its cabin. The luxurious upholstery in the GranTurismo will be crafted from recycled materials for ultra-cozy, and guilt-free joyrides. A 12.3-inch infotainment supports Maserati’s Google-based infotainment system front and center alongside an 8.8-inch touchscreen for climate controls. Wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay will be included, and hardened audiophiles will be able to opt for an available 19-speaker Sonus Faber premium sound system.
